Senior Nutrition Program Director:
Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Nutrition Program Director. This position will be located in our Lakeview Senior Nutrition site in Bath.  Duties include: Direct and coordinate the Senior Nutrition Program including administration, fiscal, supervision and staffing, planning and program development.  Qualifications: Minimum of five years of nutrition or food service experience, one year of supervisory experience.  An associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred, with an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Culinary education or training is a plus.  35 hours per week with full benefits.  Driver's license meeting agency standards required.  ServeSafe certificate required.  EOE.  Open Until Filled.

Pro Action NY Connects Yates Office for the Aging Administrative Assistant:
This key staff position is responsible for program budget development and monitoring, accounts receivable, accounts payable, contracts and fiscal monitoring.  Additional responsibilities include reporting for state and federal programs, managing office technology, online reporting, and being the key contact for database software.  Provides direct administrative support to the Yates Director as required.  Qualifications: Associates Degree in Business or accounting, internship or six months related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Requires experience with computer hardware and software, proficiency with accounting software, database software, Microsoft Office software, and social media.  Reliable transportation and a driver's license meeting agency standards is required.  Applicants are subject to a background check.  Position is full time, 37.5 hours per week with benefits.

Special Education Manager:
Pro Action's Head Start Program is seeking applicants for a Special Education Manager.  The position works closely with the Head Start/UPK Education Team in locations throughout Steuben and Yates Counties to ensure completion of developmental screenings; assist classroom teachers/parents with referrals to CPSE as needed; make classroom observations; model classroom management techniques; provide staff development around the topics of disabilities an behavior management.  Responsible for tracking and monitoring program compliance with Head Start Performance Standards around services to children with disabilities.  Qualifications: This position requires, at a minimum, a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education.  Experience working with preschoolers with disabilities is required.  A valid driver's license meeting agency standards and reliable transportation are required.  This is a full time position with full benefits.  EOE.

Part Time Assistant - Bath Area Family Resource Center:
A flexible, self-directed, dependable individual with a positive attitude and the ability and desire to work with children and families.  Responsibilities include assisting the BAFRC Coordinator with day to day operations of the center and oversight of the center when the Coordinator is not available.  Will assist the Coordinator in developing the monthly calendar of programs/events/activities.  Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of supplies and equipment.  Qualifications: Must have working knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications to maintain detailed records.  Must have an awareness of community resources and supports available to families.  Position requires a two year degree in a related field or the equivalent experience working with families and children.  This is a 10 hour per week position with some evening and weekend hours to include Thursday evenings.  A background check will be required.  Apply by 2/1/2016.  EOE.

Head Start Classroom Support Staff (Campbell)
Pro Action is seeking a Classroom Support Staff person to assist with implementing activities.  Direct interaction with children, maintaining a clean classroom environment, food preparation, and bus monitoring as needed.  Must adhere to Head Start performance Standards and New York State ay Care Regulations.  Qualifications: High School Diploma and experience working with children. 

Temporary Position Beginning February 1st:
Child Care Aware® of Steuben and Schuyler, a division of Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc., is looking for a temporary Parent Education Counselor, starting February 1.  The Parent Education Counselor is responsible for counseling parents looking for child care by giving appropriate referrals through consumer education, information on financial assistance (including subsidy applications) and other support services.  Maintain the integrity of the NACCRRA-ware database and must adhere to all contractual and regulatory requirements.  Qualifications: Associates Degree in Education, Early Childhood, Human Services, or similar field required.  Must have computer skills, superb communication skills and be a team player.  EOE. 


Early Childhood Teachers Needed for UPK Partnerships:
Pro Action's Head Start/UPK Program is seeking applicants for New York State Certified Teachers in the Hornell, Bath, Wayland-Cohocton and Jasper-Troupsburg school districts.  Successful candidates will provide high quality Pre-K instruction in a classroom setting.  Position requires reliable transportation, and a valid driver's license meeting agency standards.  This is a 37.5 hour per week, 10-month position, based on the school calendar. 
Qualifications: New York State certification in Early Childhood Education or Birth - Grade 2 or NYS certification in Special Education Birth - Grade 2.  Prior experience working wit preschool age children, excellent organizational and time management skills, and flexibility are required. EOE.

Head Start Classroom Support Staff - Wayland

Early Head Start Long-Term Substitute in Infant Room - Hornell:
Interested applicants must be dependable with a positive attitude.  Will provide care and facilitation of learning in a classroom setting.  Teachers implement curriculum meeting the Head Start Early Learning Framework.  Teachers provide comprehensive services to children and families and adhere to Head Start Performance Standards and NYS Day Care Regulations.  Flexibility and communication skills are desired.  Qualifications: Minimum requirements: Infant/Toddler CDA or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.  Prior experience working with infants and/or toddlers, excellent organizational and time management skills, and flexibility are required.  The position requires reliable transportation and a valid driver's license meeting agency standards.  37.5 hours per week.  EOE
 
Teaching Assistants:
Pro Action's Head Start Program is seeking Teaching Assistants for our Head Start/UPK classrooms in Wayland, Savona and Hornell.  This position assists the Certified Teacher in the planning and implementation of daily activities in the Pre-K classroom, adhering to Head Start Performance Standards, NYS Office of Children and Family Services Day Care Regulations and all other applicable program regulations.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are desired, with the ability to function as a team player.  Qualifications: Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associates degree in Early Childhood with a minimum of 9 credit hours in Dearly Childhood Development, along with previous experience working in Early Childhood.  Requires valid driver's license meeting agency standards and reliable transportation.  Full time, 37.5 hours per week, based on school calendar.  EOE. 

One-to-One Teacher Assistant for Head Start/UPK Classrooms in Steuben County:
Position involves working one-on-one with assigned child.  Assigned work site varies based upon need.  Implements individual plans under the guidance of the classroom teacher.  Supports classroom staff with implementing classroom activities and has direct interaction with individual children.  Qualifications: Experience with young children and a high school diploma are required, Child Development Associates or Associates in Early Childhood preferred. 

Head Start/UPK Classroom Substitutes:
Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking applicants for our Head Start and UPK Classrooms throughout Steuben and Yates Counties.  Qualified individuals must have experience with young children, a positive attitude and the flexibility to work on an as-needed basis with reliable transportation.  EOE.

Nutrition/Breastfeeding Educator:
Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) has an immediate opening for a health professional to assess nutrition and health status of potential clients and establish eligibility for program services.  Will provide client centered nutrition, breastfeeding and healthy lifestyle education and make referrals to other service providers as needed.  Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics or Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR).  RD preferred.  Breastfeeding experience helpful.  Reliable transportation and a driver's license meeting agency standards required.  Full time position with benefits.  EOE.  

Substitute Drivers:
Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking substitute Van Drivers for our Yates Office for the Aging Senior Transportation Program.  This position entails transporting seniors to appointments throughout Yates and surrounding counties.  Must have reliable transportation and a commercial driver's license meeting agency standards as well as the flexibility to work on an as-needed basis.  EOE.
