Long Term Substitute Child Development Site Manager -
Pro Action's Head Start Program is seeking a Long Term Substitute for the position of Child Development Site Manager.  The Child Development Site Manager ensures site compliance with head Start Performance Standards, NYS Office of Children and Family services Day Care Licensing Regulations, and NYS Universal Pre-Kindergarten regulations. Responsibilities include: Monitoring educational content area and supervision of classroom staff in assigned classrooms; serve as a resource/mentor for Lead Teachers; observe classroom activities; review child records for completeness; provide classroom coverage as necessary; complete program repots. Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, experience teaching in a preschool classroom, interpersonal skills including staff supervision.  This is a full time, long term substitute position.  EOE.    

21st Century Site Coordinator (Bradford Central School District):
School-based, 12-month position.  Responsible for the coordination and implementation of daily programming in partnership with the School District.  Programming includes structured recreation, academic support, field trips, and enrichment activities.  Qualifications: BS in Human Services, Education, or related field with +2 year of direct experience with youth recreation and youth development or equivalent education and experience.  Position is 37.5 hours per week, full benefits.  A driver's license meeting agency standards is required.  EOE.

Senior Employment Program Coordinator:
Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking a full time Coordinator to provide direct oversight of the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) for Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Allegany, Tioga, and Yates Counties.  Responsibilities: The Senior Employment Program Coordinator is responsible for meeting contracted performance goals for SCEP.  This includes service level, service to most-in-need, community service hours, entered employment rate, and retention rate for participants.  The Coordinator will develop Memorandums of Understanding and maintain partnerships and cooperative relationships with local host agencies.  Other responsibilities include: screening and enrolling applicants, completing assessments, developing individual Employment Plans, identifying supportive services to address barriers to employment, managing timesheets and payroll, conducting yearly recertification, inputting and maintaining accurate data in reporting systems, and completing all program reporting requirements.  Qualifications: B.S. in Human Service, Business, or related education; two years' experience in a service position with experience working with a target population; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have a clean driver's license and a criminal background check will be conducted.  This position is 37.5 hours per week with benefits. 

Processor (Steuben) -
Currently located at Steuben County Department of Social Services.  Responsibilities of this position include clerical duties and customer relations.  Minimum qualifications: Associates Degree or High School Diploma with two years of related work experience.  Must have experience in computer technology and be proficient in data entry.  Position is 37.5 hours per week.  Please apply by 8/1/2016.  EOE. 

Child Care Health Consultant: Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking a full time Child Care Health Consultant for Steuben, Schuyler Counties. The Child Care Health Consultant is responsible for supporting and providing professional development opportunities that will increase the ability of child care programs to adequately provide high quality care by acting as a health care resource and trainer. The Consultant will arrange for the position of health services and education and act as a liaison between child care programs and health care professionals. The Consultant will ensure technical assistance and consultation is offered on issues related to regulations and working with special services and will maintain the standards of the National Quality Assurance reporting requirements. Must adhere to all contractual and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: P.N., P.A., N.P. or M.D. must have a clean driver’s license and criminal background check will be conducted. Must have a working vehicle and be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Nutrition Educator - Pro Action's WIC program has an immediate opening for a Nutrition Educator.  This health professional will assess the nutrition and health status of potential clients and establish eligibility for program services.  Will provide client centered nutrition, breastfeeding, and healthy lifestyle education and make referrals to other service providers as needed.  Qualifications: This position requires the minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics or Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR).  Breastfeeding experience helpful.  Reliable transportation and a driver's license meeting agency standards required.  Position is 30 - 37.5 hours per week with benefits.  Join our team of caring professionals promoting good nutrition for Women, Infants, and Children.  This position is open until filled.  EOE.

Early Head Start Kitchen/Support Staff - Hornell:  Be part of the team providing age appropriate curriculum and nurturing care to infants and toddlers in a full-year, center based setting.  Primary responsibilities include: Preparing food (breakfast, lunch, snack), shopping for foods, proper storage of foods, and maintaining Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) paperwork.  Will also maintain a clean environment and provide coverage for staff breaks.  Must adhere to Head Start Performance Standards and New York State Day Care Regulations.  Qualifications: High School Diploma and experience with infants/toddlers; food preparation experience.  This position requires reliable transportation and a driver's license meeting agency standards.  This benefit eligible position is 6 hours per day, 30 hours per week, full year.  This position is open until filled.  EOE.

Special Education Manager: Pro Action's Head Start Program is seeking a Special Education Manager to work closely with the Head Start / UPK Education team in locations throughout Steuben and Yates Counties.  Responsibilities of this position include: ensuring completion of developmental screenings; assisting classroom teachers and parents with referrals to CPSE as needed; making classroom observations; modeling classroom management techniques; providing professional development to staff around the topics of disabilities and behavior management.  The Special Education Manager is also responsible for tracking and monitoring program compliance with Head Start Performance Standards regarding services to children with disabilities.  Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education is required, along with experience working with preschoolers with disabilities.  Must have reliable transportation and a driver's license meeting agency standards.  This is a full time position with full benefits.  EOE.

Family Advocates -
The Family Advocate provides support to the families of children enrolled in the Head Start classroom based program.  Responsibilities: Completing home visits with program participants, organizing and facilitating parent education activities, recruiting and enrolling program eligible children and families.  Will establish a working knowledge of community resources, assist families in identifying and obtaining needed resources, support families in the goal setting process.  Will provide assistance with activities in the classroom as needed.  Qualifications: Associate's degree in Human Services or related Field, SSCBT, or Family Development Credential.  Will consider an equivalent combination of relevant courses/experience.  Strong communication and organizational skills required.  Good computer skills and the ability to multi-task required.  Must be able to work with multiple sites and teams.  A driver's license meeting agency standards is required.  Position is 37.5 hours per week with benefits.  This position follows the school year calendar. 


Early Childhood Teachers Needed for UPK Partnerships:
Pro Action's Head Start/UPK Program is seeking applicants for New York State Certified Teachers in classrooms throughout Steuben and Yates Counties.  Responsibilities include: Providing Pre-K instruction in a classroom setting; implementing curriculum meeting the Head Start Early Learning Framework and NYS Pre-K Foundation for the Common Core; providing comprehensive services to children and families and adhering to Head Start Performance Standards and New York State Day Care Regulations.  Qualifications: NYS certification in Early Childhood Education, Birth - Grade 2 or NYS certification in Special Education, Birth - Grade 2.  Prior experience working with preschool children, excellent organizational and time management skills, and flexibility are required.  A valid NYS driver's license is required.  Positions are full time, 37.5 hours per week, based on the school district calendar.  EOE.
