Head Start / UPK Classroom Support Staff –Hornell -
Pro Action’s is seeking applicants for Classroom Support Staff for our Head Start/UPK location in Hornell. Responsibilities: Classroom Support Staff will have daily, direct interaction with children and will assist other classroom staff with implementing activities. Will maintain a clean environment, prepare food, and act as bus monitor as needed. Must adhere to Head Start Performance Standards and New York State Day Care Regulations. Head Start 3-Year-Old Family Educators -
Pro Action's Head Start Program is seeking applicants for Head Start 3-Year-Old Family Educators in the Corning and Hornell areas.  Responsibilities: The Family Educator provides educational activities for preschool children in a program which combines home based and center based services.  Requires educational home visits with the child and parent as well as one day each week or two times per month in a classroom experience for 10 enrolled children as defined by job title.  Plan and implement activities in head Start home based program in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and other applicable program regulations.  Other duties include but are not limited to: acting as a Family and Community Partner to assist families with education, resources, referrals, physical and emotional wellness, and goal setting to ensure compliance with the head Start Performance Standards.  Must be proficient with computers for entering data, child observations, etc.  This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week, for the school calendar year.  Qualifications: Minimum of Associates degree in Early Childhood, including a minimum of 12 credit hours in Early Childhood coursework (birth through 2nd grade), excellent organizational and time management skills, and flexibility are required.  Applicants who have home visiting and Early childhood development experience will be given preference.  A driver's license meeting agency standards and reliable transportation are both required.  To Apply: Interested applicants must send a letter of interest, resume, copy of unofficial transcripts and certifications and a completed employment application to: Human Resources, Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc., 117 E. Employment and Training Director -
Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking applicants for the position of Employment and Training Director to be responsible for the oversight and leadership of the multiple services and programs on the Employment and Training Department.  The Director will provide the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all department programs.  Additional responsibilities include: Implementation and oversight of contracts with program partners and funders, attainment and measurement of performance measures.  Completion of internal and external reports and monitoring all program budgets.  Research and write funding proposals for the purpose of maintaining and/or expanding the services of the department.  Will positively promote the department, programs, and Pro Action at partner meetings and within the community.  Develop systems and procedures to assure program coordination among various programs within the department, among other departments and community service providers.  Will be required to travel to occasional workshops, trainings, conferences. Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Human Services or a related field is required, in addition to five years of experience in a managerial and supervisory role.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  Required skills include grant writing, grant management, reporting, and monitoring of budgets.  Strong and effective communication skills are required.  Must be able to multi-task, be highly organized, able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.  Computer skills, excellent customer service skills, problem solving skills, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently are required.  Deadline to apply is September 2, 2016.  EOE. 

Emerging Workforce Navigator - Elmira:
Pro Action is seeking an Emerging Workforce Navigator to provide employment case management services to at-risk youth and young adults in our Career Center in Elmira.  Responsibilities: Participant recruitment, intake/assessment, pre-employment skills training, career/education counseling, supervision of paid and unpaid work experiences, and follow-up services.  Qualifications: Associates degree in Human Services or a related field is required.  Experience working with at-risk youth is a plus.  A driver's license meeting agency standards is required.  This position is 40 hours per week with benefits.  This position is open until filled.  EOE. 

Project Care Van Driver (Steuben County) - Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking a part time Project Care Van Driver in Steuben County.  This position schedules and transports senior customers for grocery shopping and errands in Steuben County.  Additional responsibilities include: development of driving routes, record keeping, and promotion of the program.  Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and/or one to three months related experience and/or training.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.  Must have a valid driver's license meeting agency standards and must pass required background and DMV checks.  Must have and maintain a clean driving record.  This is a part-time position, up to 20 hours per week.  This position is open until filled.  EOE. 

NY Connects Information and Assistance and Options Counseling Intake Adie - (Steuben):
Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking a NY Connects Information and Assistance and Options Counseling Intake Aide for a position in Hornell. 

Responsibilities: This Steuben NY Connects program staff position assists persons of any age, their caregivers, or advocates by providing information and assistance and/or Options Counseling on long term care services and supports available in Steuben County that are both privately and publicly funded.  Assists, as needed, with applications for services.  Will develop and provide consumer education and outreach.  Responsible for maintaining current information on programs and services related to Long Term Care Services and Supports.  

Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in Social Work, Human Services, or Gerontology plus two years related experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.  Requires knowledge of health and community service programs and the ability to collect and organize data.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is preferred.  This position requires reliable transportation and a driver's license meeting agency standards.   

Consumer Resource Aide - Steuben:
Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking a Consumer Resource Adie in in Corning, NY.

Responsibilities:
This key staff person coordinates and manages health and long term care insurance counseling and access to Long Term services and supports assistance.  Also coordinates and manages legal referrals and consumer education for consumers in Steuben County under HICAP, NY Connects, and Legal Services.  Assists with the linkages of services not directly offered by the Steuben County Office for the Aging. 

Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in Social Work, Human Services or Gerontology plus two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Requires commitment to excellent customer service and ongoing professional development.  Must have knowledge of health insurance programs, collecting and organizing data.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is preferred.  Reliable transportation and driver's license meeting agency standards are required.  This is a full time position, 37.5 hours per week with benefits.  This position is open until filled.  EOE. 


Child Development Site Manager -
Pro Action's Head Start Program is seeking a Child Development Site Manager.  The Child Development Site Manager ensures site compliance with head Start Performance Standards, NYS Office of Children and Family services Day Care Licensing Regulations, and NYS Universal Pre-Kindergarten regulations. Responsibilities include: Monitoring educational content area and supervision of classroom staff in assigned classrooms; serve as a resource/mentor for Lead Teachers; observe classroom activities; review child records for completeness; provide classroom coverage as necessary; complete program repots. Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, experience teaching in a preschool classroom, interpersonal skills including staff supervision.  This is a full time position with benefits.  EOE.    


Child Care Health Consultant: Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking a full time Child Care Health Consultant for Steuben, Schuyler Counties. The Child Care Health Consultant is responsible for supporting and providing professional development opportunities that will increase the ability of child care programs to adequately provide high quality care by acting as a health care resource and trainer. The Consultant will arrange for the position of health services and education and act as a liaison between child care programs and health care professionals. The Consultant will ensure technical assistance and consultation is offered on issues related to regulations and working with special services and will maintain the standards of the National Quality Assurance reporting requirements. Must adhere to all contractual and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: P.N., P.A., N.P. or M.D. must have a clean driver’s license and criminal background check will be conducted. Must have a working vehicle and be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Home Based Educators - The Early Head Start Program is seeking applicants for the position of Home Based Educator.  This is a full year position and responsibilities include: Providing educational activities for infants/toddlers or 3-year-ods in the home setting.  Assists families in identifying and accessing additional resources as needed.  Qualifications: Prefer Home Based CDA or equivalent coursework as part of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood.  Requires excellent organizational and time management skills and flexibility.  Must have a driver's license meeting agency standards and reliable transportation.  EOE. 

Early Head Start Kitchen/Support Staff - Hornell:  Be part of the team providing age appropriate curriculum and nurturing care to infants and toddlers in a full-year, center based setting.  Primary responsibilities include: Preparing food (breakfast, lunch, snack), shopping for foods, proper storage of foods, and maintaining Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) paperwork.  Will also maintain a clean environment and provide coverage for staff breaks.  Must adhere to Head Start Performance Standards and New York State Day Care Regulations.  Qualifications: High School Diploma and experience with infants/toddlers; food preparation experience.  This position requires reliable transportation and a driver's license meeting agency standards.  This benefit eligible position is 6 hours per day, 30 hours per week, full year.  This position is open until filled.  EOE.
