History of Pro Action

Previously known as the Steuben County Economic Opportunity Program, Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. was established as a result of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964.  Pro Action has been serving the people of Steuben and Yates Counties for more than 40 years.  We are part of a nationwide network of 1,100 Community Action Agencies.

Community Action Agencies are non-profit organizations that work to alleviate the causes and conditions of poverty at the local level by providing programs that are specific to the needs of the local community.
