Addison Eagles Ladies Auxiliary donates to Pro Action Senior Nutrition
On March 12, 2008, the Addison Eagles Club Ladies Auxiliary presented the Pro Action Senior Nutrition Programs with a check for $10,000. At a presentation ceremony at Addison Place Apartments, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary President Marjorie Myers presented the check to Senior Nutrition Programs Director Jerry Flegal.
This generous contribution represents the hard work of the Eagles Club Ladies Auxiliary over the past year. Funds were raised by holding spaghetti dinners, fish fries and “Chicken Wing Mondays”. The ladies of the Auxiliary also contributed the tips that they received at these fundraising events.
The donation represents the desire of the Addison Ladies Eagles Club Auxiliary to see the results of their fundraising endeavors put to good use. For Pro Action’s Senior Nutrition Program, it means the long-awaited replacement of badly worn hot and cold food carriers for transporting home delivered meals to elderly, home-bound citizens, as well as other program improvements.
Pro Action’s Senior Dinner Club serves 4,100 meals annually at Addison Place Apartments and 32,000 meals at sites across Steuben County. 34,000 meals are delivered to home bound Senior Citizens in the Addison area and 132,000 meals are delivered county wide. For more information on Pro Action’s Senior Nutrition Programs, contact Jerry Flegal, Director, at 607-776-4310.
